The Rock vs. John Cena: May not be happening at Wrestlemania 27, but becomes real with WWE All Stars!

February 22, 2011, By Shawn Wagnon

The arcade-styled wresting game from WWE has its first list of roster names now confirmed and it sure is set to attract professional wrestling/sports entertainment fans from across the globe. Half of the roster for the WWE All Stars game has been confirmed today and the names include some of the hall of famers from the past along with fresh young stars who are set to become the focus of WWE’s programming in the future.

Here is the list of the superstars confirmed so far for the WWE All Stars game:

Andre the Giant, Macho Man, Bret Hart, Ricky Steamboat, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Eddie Guerrero, Sgt. Slaughter, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Roddy Piper, John Cena, Triple H, Rey Mysterio, John Morrison, Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Sheamus, Randy Orton, Jack Swagger, Kane, Edge.

So, that confirms both the Rock (Dwayne Jhonson, for those from Hollywood) and John Cena for the WWE All Stars. That is a match that might not be happening in the ring, but now you can bring your fantasy booking dreams alive with match ups like that and a lot more. How about Hogan vs. Cena? (the superman from the 80’s vs. the superman of today!)

If you are a long-time wrestling fan, then the inclusion of the Ultimate Warrior is a bit of a surprise considering the issues Vince and WWE have with him. Remember that this list, as star-packed as it is, is only half the roster and the rest is yet to be known officially. That one will have big names too since two Wrestlemania Icons are missing so far- HBK Shawn Michaels & the Undertaker.

Also missing are likes of Chris Jericho and Stone Cold Steve Austin. The arcade-styled All Stars is shaping up to be a wonderful game so far. We will have to wait and see on the content and quality though. Buying the WWE All Stars?
