UberMedia’s UberTwitter, UberCurrent & Twidroyd back up and running after Twitter lifts its ban

We did tell you a couple of days back that Twitter had pulled the plug on Twidroyd, UberTwitter and UberCurrent. Now we can confirm that the ban on the Twitter Apps of UberMedia have been lifted completely and they are back up and running again. The initial ban from twitter came because of a policy violation from UberMedia in ways more than one.

Uber Media was quick to act on the complaints that twitter had and even changed the name of UberTwitter to UberSocial as the term of ‘Twitter’ in their name was something which was found unacceptable. The initial release from Twitter on the ban was as follows:

“violations include, but aren’t limited to, a privacy issue with private Direct Messages longer than 140 characters, trademark infringement, and changing the content of users’ Tweets in order to make money. We ask all developers in Twitter ecosystem to abide by a simple set of rules that are in the interests of our users, as well as the health and vitality of the platform as a whole.”

But it seems now, that Twitter is happy with the changes UberMedia have made to their Twitter Apps on iOS, Android and BlackBerry. You can simply get back on, access updates and continue to use the apps as before. Nice to see things resolved this quickly and smoothly in the tech world, for a change!
