Motorola Xoom in-store pre-orders now open at Best Buy: Official Price & Release Date now confirmed

February 20, 2011, By Shawn Wagnon

If you have been waiting for this since long, then we can finally confirm it to you (Officially) that the Motorola Xoom will be out in Best Buy this Thursday (Feb 24th) and it will be available with a price tag of $800. This obviously no big news for those of us who have been keeping a track of the Xoom release date over the leaks side of things. This will be not the only-WiFi model, which is slated to be out a bit later on Verizon Wireless.

Even if you are going to buy the WiFi-only version of the Xoom, you will still have to activate data with Verizon for the first month, at the very least to get things going. The reason for that is pretty simple, Verizon wants to make some cash! Despite that, many could still opt for the less expensive ($600) WiFi-only Xoom.

If you want to pre-order the Xoom, then you can do that right away at Best Buy. Along with the 3G Xoom you can also take a look at the $40 portfolio case, a $50 basic charging dock, a $130 stereo speaker dock and a $70 Bluetooth keyboard that are being offered by Best Buy.

Just feel sometimes that we are spending more on the accessories than on the device itself… And we are not just talking about the Xoom. Just look at the extras on the Motorola Atrix 4G…
