LG Optimus 3D Price & Release Date now out in UK: So what can we expect in the US?

February 19, 2011, By Shawn Wagnon

The LG Optimus 3D was pretty impressive at the Mobile World Congress in 2011 and what attracted us the most about the Optimus 3D Smartphone was the fact that you could record 3D Video with it. Of course, you will still need the 3D glasses to watch it in 3D again, but that still is an option that could be attractive to many. We have been waiting for the price and release details of the Optimus 3D and we have our first confirmed news in that regard.

The Optimus 3D will be available in the UK and one of its dealer Expansys has revealed that it will offer the LG Optimus 3D for £514.99 by April 25th. We are talking about the SIM-free price of the device. That roughly translates to $835 in the US. This is the contract-free price of the Optimus 3D on Expansys in the UK and with the April 25th release in UK now set, expect a release date in the US that is more or less close to that. (By a couple of weeks)

To put that conversion and price in perspective, Expansys offers 16GB iPhone in the UK contract-free for £649.99 and Google Nexus S for £514.99. So, you can now interpret and understand what it could come for after an on-contract rebate in the US. Hopefully we will hear something official in that regard soon enough.
