Gamocracy: Community Orientated Game Development?

February 19, 2011, By Christian Cawley

How many times have you sat playing your favourite video game and wished that you could get involved with the development of games like it?

Gamocracy democratic game development for PS3

Well, this week The Bearded Ladies unveiled “Gamocracy” – a new game development initiative that pushes community involvement!

Swedish-based developers The Bearded Ladies (who are best known for the PlayStation Network helicopter sim Landit Bandit) are currently readying the launch of Gamocracy and hope that it will allow anybody and everybody interested in gaming to pitch in and vote on design ideas for their upcoming game.

Designed by gamers, for gamers, The Bearded Ladies want to create the world’s most democratic titles for PS3 and PSP. They hope that Gamocracy will guarantee that players are involved in many of the key game design areas, meaning that anyone can help create and play the game they’ve always wanted to play!

Over the next few days Sony and The Bearded Ladies will be revealing more details – in the meantime anyone interested should tune in to the official PlayStation Forums at community.eu.playstation.com, the PlayStation.Blog at blog.eu.playstation.com and at facebook.com/TheBeardedLadies!
