February 17, 2011, By Christian Cawley

Coming soon from Paradox Interactive and Turbo Tape Games is Naval War: Arctic Circle,a superb looking new RTS which gives players the ability to command navies and skirmish in both air and sea!

Naval War: Arctic Circle

Taking place in the arctic regions, Naval War: Arctic Circle challenges players to achieve dominance and control of the seas as you attempt to reign supreme over the waters.

Placing you in control of the worlds most powerful naval forces, (such as NATO, the Nordic Alliance, Russia, and the United States) the game will also allow you to tackle enemy units above and below the surface, with full control over aircraft carriers (see above) and submersible units.

Including two campaign modes (Russia and NATO) and online play via LAN and Internet, the game features over 35 million square km of open sea and coast lines, which you can interact with via a seamless zoom-able map of the entire North Atlantic Ocean.

Weapons-wise, Naval War: Arctic Circle delivers control over extreme long range guided and self-guided weaponry; if you can detect the enemy, it will be possible to strike! Added to this is a detection/evasion game paradigm to offer a new strategic element to the game, all of which can be thrown into disarray by the game’s realistic weather model.

Expected in Q1 of 2011, Naval War: Arctic Circle, you can find out more in this interview with Jan Haugland, lead game designer:
