Verizon Motorola Droid X 2 Smartphone to be Launched in Q2 2011

Recently, there have been a lot of rumors flying around related to the Motorola Droid X 2 handset, which is supposed to be the successor to the company’s Droid X. The leaked specs and photos of the device are floating around on the web, and now the latest info is suggesting that the device is actually coming.

According to rumors, the Motorola Droid X 2 looks similar to the Droid X, and features the Android 2.2 Froyo OS with MOTOBLUR and an 8 megapixel rear facing camera.

The leaked specs of the device also include a 4.3-inch qHD display with a resolution of 960 x 540, a 1GHz Tegra 2 dual-core CPU, and 1GB of RAM.

But now, one of Engadget’s trusted sources did some research on the matter, and has revealed that the Motorola Droid X 2 aka Droid X “squared” actually exists and that the device is headed to Verizon Wireless in the second quarter of this year without LTE.

And the info available suggests that the upcoming device will be a refreshed Droid X.

The device will come equipped with the same 4.3-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 854 x 480, a 1.2GHz single-core CPU, and 768MB of RAM.
