Motorola Xoom Android Tablet to be Available from Costco from Feb 24

February 16, 2011, By Leo Xavier

Earlier, we had reported that the much anticipated Motorola Xoom Honeycomb tablet will be available from Best Buy from the 24th of February onwards. Now, a new leak is suggesting that the tablet will also be available from Costco. Check out the leaked document that is proof on the matter.

According to the fresh leak, the 10.1 inch Android 3.0-powered device will be available from the wholesaler on February 24.

The leak says that Costco locations will be receiving Xoom demo tablets as soon as February 22.  And on February 24th, “each warehouse” will get a “pallet” of Xooms to be displayed on the floor. It appears that there won’t be any shortage of Xooms on the launch day.

But the leak actually makes sense, because many Costco locations do have small Verizon kiosks inside.

Unfortunately, you will need to have a Verizon service plan at activation.  For this you will have to pay at least another $20 for the first month.

We will let you know as soon as there is a confirmation on the matter. In the meantime, you can check out our hands-on experience with the tablet at the Mobile World Congress 2011.

We got a chance to play with the device at the ongoing MWC, and from our experience, the tablet seems to be one awesome device. Check out the gallery and you can comment about it in the box below.
