Google’s Eric Schmidt at MWC 2011: Android apps now past the 150,000 mark as Movie Studio for Tablets makes its way out

The Android news is coming in thick and fast from the MWC 2011 and Eric Schmidt is giving out Google Android numbers that should make those who support the mobile OS really happy. While the Android activations per day number crossed the 350,000 per day, the Android Apps number has just gone past the 150,000 marks. So, we already have 150,000 apps on Android and that means more apps for you to access and explore.

No doubt that Android is the big mobile revolution that is currently happening and with its OS expanding fast to many mobile makers, the Android app is only going from strength to strength. Earlier Google’s former CEO told us that they were already strong in 69 countries with over 169 carriers supporting Android OS.

Google also brought out Movie Studio, which is a video editing and sharing app that seems to be tablet specific and designed for Honeycomb. So, with more tabs onboard and a strong OS in place Google is confident that Android will make the same impact in the tablet market (Xoom, Optimus Pad & Galaxy Tab 10.1 among them). Will have to wait and see how that goes…
