Facebook Phones from HTC at MWC 2011 set to arrive in US on AT&T: Salsa & ChaCha to make the trip across the Atlantic soon!

What is the point of having mobiles that are completely dedicated to getting you hooked on Facebook? Not wanting to sound too negative, but what exactly HTC is trying to get to with the Salsa and the ChaCha beats us. Yes, there will be those teens who have little ‘real social life’ and hence might want to spend all their life postings tuff on sites like Facebook, but does every other mobile not do the same these days? Either way, if you want the Salsa or the ChaCha, they are coming to US on AT&T.

HTC is not a forerunner in the smartphone market anyway, but by putting out a couple of mobiles with buttons that post stuff directly to Facebook and branding them as ‘Facebook mobiles’ really does not cut it with us. Every decent phone these days already allows for good social networking access. Well, maybe they though it will be now ‘cool trend’ to get these handsets!

The ChaCha has a 2.6-inch touchscreen along with a QWERTY keypad, while the Salsa has a 3.4-inch touchscreen. They should be coming to AT&T soon and we will not be surprised if they reach the bottom rack sooner. Wait for a month or two and maybe AT&T will throw in one for free on contract…
