AT&T HTC Revolver Android Honeycomb (or Ice Cream) Smartphone Coming in Q3 2011?

February 15, 2011, By Leo Xavier

The ongoing Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is witnessing the unveiling of many of the latest high-end devices that will hit the markets in the very near future. All the tech sites are busy with the articles on all the confirmed devices. But that does not stop tipsters from sending leaked data and starting rumors about new devices. The latest leaked device is the Revolver handset from HTC.

Rumor suggests that the HTC Revolver will hit AT&T in the third quarter of this year. But what is more interesting is the phone’s supposed specs.

According to the leak, the flagship smartphone will run the Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system, the same OS that is supposedly only for tablets and devices with a large screen size.

This means that either we will witness some big changes coming to the Android OS or the fresh leak is a fake, or at least not fully accurate.

If the device is really coming, it is not known whether the handset will actually feature Honeycomb or come with some of the elements that are seen on the OS.

You might not have forgotten our report about the rumor that Google had started working on the next OS that is expected to bring some Honeycomb features to handsets. So, will the rumored handset feature Android Ice Cream?

Other rumored specs of the device include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, 16GB of on-board storage, 1GB of memory, an 8 megapixel rear camera, and a 3 megapixel front-facing cam.

The rumor also suggests that the carrier will be posting a “coming soon” image on its website this spring.

AT&T might come out with a confirmation soon. We will let you know when that happens. So stay tuned.
