Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 coming to Vodafone & set for a March Release: Gingerbread Tab to follow hot on the heels of Motorola Xoom!

February 14, 2011, By Shawn Wagnon

When we say ‘March Release’ and ‘Vodafone’, we are obviously taking about Europe and Asia. There is still nothing confirmed by Samsung on who the carrier will be in the US for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 or when exactly will it cross the Atlantic. But with the Xoom set for a release shortly, it might be fair to expect a March release even in the US. For now it is certain that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is going first to Vodafone who plan to cash in on it starting March across the globe.

This after the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 made its official debut at the Mobile World Congress 2011 yesterday. The tablet had been rumored over the last weekend and it has come out with Android 3.0, 10.1-inch TFT display with 1280 x 800-resolution, 1Ghz Dual-Core Tegra 2 Processor, 8 megapixel camera and 2 megapixel font-facing camera.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is obviously Samsung’s attempt at taking Motorola’s Xoom head-on and with promised aggressive pricing, it has a very good chance of making a huge dent into Xoom’s potential market. Vodafone also stated that they had ‘exclusive’ rights of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia. This means, rest of Europe, Asia and even US will get it on other carriers a couple weeks after Vodafone.

So, which US carrier do you want the Samsung galaxy Tab 10.1 first on? Verizon or AT&T? Are people Down under really comfortable with ‘only Vodafone’ deal?
