MWC 2011: LG Optimus 3D Specs, Features, Release Details & Hands-On Video

February 14, 2011, By Shawn Wagnon

The LG Optimus 3D is now on display at the Mobile World Congress and while some would call ‘3D’ as just a gimmick; there are others who already want to pocket mobile 3D. No matter what your view on 3D is, it is surely worth taking a closer look and that is exactly what we have for you. Here are the specs, features, release details and all the info you need about the Optimus 3D, all in one place.

Specs & Features:

Apart from the obvious 3D capabilities of the handset, which you already might have guessed from the name, here is what exactly the Optimus 3D brings to the shelves:

  • 4.3-inch 3D WVGA Touchscreen
  • 5-megapixel dual-lens camera with 1080p video capability and 3D playback
  • 1GHz dual-core processor
  • 8GB in-built memory
  • Built-in 3D content (both games and movies)
  • Froyo (Android 2.2) with a promised upgrade to Gingerbread

The LG Optimus 3D is set for release in May in the Europe and Asia regions on Vodafone and Three. It should take a bit more time to cross the Atlantic and get to US. While we do not have detailed price details yet, it should not be too long before we get a ’leak’ in that regard as well. For those interested in a Hands-On video, you can check out the one from Engadget Here.

Hopefully we will be impressed with the 3D content when we get to play with the LG Optimus 3D ourselves. Till then, it might be hard to get behind it with various other 3D gaming units making their way out soon.
