Intel MeeGo Smartphone & Tablet at MWC; Teaser Points to a Launch

February 14, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

The Mobile World Congress 2011 venue at Barcelona is witnessing many a gadget sporting some amazing aura. A well crafted promotional image  we stumbled upon gives us hopes of seeing the Intel Atom-based MeeGo smartphone and a tablet too.

Though we are yet to get some hands on info on what they would be like and what they would hold within, the unnamed tablet and the MeeGo smartphone’s appearance as part of the teaser has in them something MWC attendees could look forward to. Though specs aren’t that forthcoming, speculations are that the devices could be Atom-run.

The grapevine is rife about the smartphone and guess center around the phone sporting the new version of its Atom processor platform called Medfield. Further, the device could come across as smaller and cooler, compared with the existing Oak Trail platform.

We chanced upon a MeetMeego Tweet that shows the teaser, and we are sure we wouldn’t have to wait for long to tell you all the details of the device.

Though Meet MeeGo hasn’t revealed much details but we guess the phone may be Aava Core – something that the tech press had been talking about a while ago.

In the meantime, the picture of the yet-to-be named tablet that has been featured alongside the MeeGo smartphone doesn’t reveal much either. We may have to wait a few more hours, to see an official unveiling of the two devices at Barcelona. Stay tuned.
