Samsung Galaxy S 2 first high resolution official image leaked: To be unveiled at MWC 2011 with 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen, Gingerbread & more

February 12, 2011, By Shawn Wagnon

It is hard to imagine how an official high-resolution image of the Samsung Galaxy S 2 got out just a couple of days ahead of what looks like its official unveiling. Now, we can confirm with certainty that the Samsung Galaxy S 2 will indeed make its very first appearance at the Mobile World Congress 2011 that starts this Monday, February 14. Delve in to know more about the Galaxy S 2…

From this particular leak of the Samsung Galaxy S 2 image (surely a pic prepared for the press release couple of days later), we can already confirm the 4.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen and Gingerbread (Android 2.3) running on it. Those who managed to pull out the leaked pic also report that the Galaxy S 2, on the inside, is powered by 1GHz dual-core processor and comes with HSPA+, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n.

What does impress us a lot are the dimensions of the Galaxy S 2. The handset weighs 116 gm and is just 8.49 mm thick, making it one of the thinnest Smartphones till date. While we already have the High-resolution image and some of the details, it is just a matter of two more days before we get to view the Samsung Galaxy S 2 first-hand at Barcelona.

We will be there at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011, to cover the event and bring you the latest from Barcelona as it happens. So, stay tuned for more excitement over the weekend and few other surprises once MWC gets underway this Monday…
