If you are an iPhone 4 user and in case you have just lost your mobile, then that is not the last piece of bad news that you have to deal with. There are people out there who could hack into your device and know all your stored passwords in matter of mere minutes. The alarming thing about this is the fact that it takes nothing beyond 6 minutes and one need not even crack the phones password for it!

Researchers in Germany have been able to retrieve stored sensitive information on iPhone 4 and passwords in mere matter of 6 minutes using keychain, along with the password management system offered by Apple. This basically means that you need not even lose your iPhone completely. It just needs to be out of your sight for 10 minutes and someone can just swoop in and get away!

While individuals who use the iPhone 4 and those who do not store sensitive data on it might not find this much of a worry, it does pose a headache for organizations that might have passwords stored on the company’s iPhone. There is also a YouTube video that demonstrates how this gets done, but we do not really encourage anyone to steal passwords and so will let that pass.

Either way, the best thing to do at this point might be to handle your iPhone with care as we wait to see if Apple comes out with a fix or an update to address the problem.
