Apple iPad 3 Rumored to Debut in Sep 2011; We Find it Hard to Digest!

February 10, 2011, By Leo Xavier

Apple is yet to officially announce the complete details about its upcoming tablet, the second generation iPad. But that does not stop tech guys from starting new rumors related to the company’s other plans. A new rumor suggests that the iPad 3 will arrive a few months after the launch of the iPad 2.

According to John Gruber at Daring Fireball, the next generation iPad will be released sometime in the coming month, and this will be followed by the launch of the iPad 3 sometime in the month of September.

The rumor also suggests that the iPad 3 will be unveiled at the company’s annual iPod event, and that the new tablet will run iOS 5.1, the same software that will also be running the next generation iPod.

A separate story also suggests that the iPad 3 might arrive in 2011 itself. According to TechCrunch, who received word from a source, Apple has a ‘Fall Surprise” and that it will most probably be the iPad 3.

Well, we must say that both John Gruber and TechCrunch have been spot on with their earlier predictions, but the new one is a bit hard to digest.

If the iPad 3 arrives just a few months after the iPad 2 is released, that will affect the sales of both the original iPad and the iPad 2.

If Apple confirms that the iPad 3 will come out in September, the customers will wait for the refreshed version to arrive rather than go for the iPad 2.

As you might know, Apple has not taken this approach when it released new generations of its iPhone. So it is most unlikely that the company will come out with such a plan for the iPad.

And just to let you know, there are many like us who would want to swallow the new rumor with a pinch of salt. Check out this article.

But we will let you know as soon as we get more info on the matter. So stay tuned.
