February 7, 2011, By Christian Davis

Joystiq is reporting that a remake of the original Halo, Halo: Combat Evolved, is coming to Xbox Live Arcade this holiday season.

An undisclosed source informed them of this, stating that it won’t just have higher resolution but will have a full visual revamp-made with brand new art assets. Controls will be updated to allow for more advanced settings but the game’s audio will remain the same.

The game engine behind the project is unknown, but is said to be different from the Halo: Reach engine. 3D TV support will be included along with 1080p visuals both accompany the rumored game. Online cooperative gameplay was also mentioned as well.

Supposedly, the game will launch on November 15th which coincides with the games 10 year anniversary.

Game Informer contacted Microsoft about the rumor and all they said was that they do not comment on rumor and speculation.

Of course they don’t.
