AT&T Motorola Atrix 4G on March 3; Official Pricing Details Inside

February 4, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

The Motorola Atrix 4G had been keeping us waiting for quite a while now. We finally have a launch date to look forward to, with AT&T confirming the release and pricing details of the much talked about smart phone. The device will be yours on AT&T latest by March 3rd – the carrier talks about a possibly earlier date too.

So latest by March 3rd, AT&T will roll out the superphone from the Motorola stables for $199 on a 2-year agreement.  This pricing, in fact, is way away from what we had heard from Amazon and Costco some time back. (Read our reports on that here and here). You can also place your per-order with AT&T on February 13th. The hype has been growing ever since the device was first detailed by Motorola.

Official word form AT&T has it that the Atrix 4G will offer two special packages for customers who would want to buy the device, in addition to the unique accessories that will come with the device. AT&T will offer bundled pricing for the Motorola Atrix 4G and the Motorola Laptop Dock.

So that would mean that the phone and Laptop Dock would be sold on the carrier network for a promotional price of $499.99, after a two-year service contract and $100 mail-in-rebate post-subscription to Data Pro smartphone data plan and tethering add on.

AT&T has also said that they will also offer the Laptop Dock separately for a $499.99 price. This apart, the carrier is also likely to sell an entertainment access kit for Atrix customers, and that would include the Motorola HD Multimedia Dock, a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and a remote control – all for $189.99.

Atrix 4G Specs:

  • Android 2.2 (could get a Gingerbread  upgrade later on).
  • NVIDIA Tegra dual core processor
  • 2 GHz of processing power
  • 4″ QHD display with 24-bit color graphics.
  • 1 GB RAM with 16 GB of onboard storage.
  • Micro SDHC slot with support for up to 32 GB for a total of 48 GB of usable storage space.
  • Fingerprint recognition reader
  • Dual microphone noise recognition.
  • Front-facing VGA video camera.
  • 1930 mAh battery.
  • 5MP camera.
  • Adobe flash player
  • 4G speed capability

Now, tell us would you want to pick the device and laptop dock for that price? We guess the laptop dock is a bit over priced. Don’t you also think so? Don’t hesitate to tell us your thoughts in the space provided. In the meantime, let us show you an ad that details the Atrix 4G.
