Motorola i1Q iDEN Android Smartphone Spotted Online

February 1, 2011, By Leo Xavier

Motorola might unveil its second iDEN phone after the Moto i1, the Motorola i1Q iDEN, in the near future. The device is expected to debut in the South American countries, and later on might be released in the US via Sprint.

The new smartphone has a touchscreen display and full QWERTY keypad below it. Said to be running the Android 2.1 operating system (sadly), the device is also expected to come equipped with a processor that is also not so heavyweight.

The Motorola Droid Pro, which was released on Verizon’s network a couple of months ago, is the last Android based smartphone that bears a resemblance to the i1Q.

GrupoAndroid, an Argentinean website, has got hold of the upcoming device, and it has posted some hands-on pictures of the phone on its website.

From the images we can clearly see that the i1Q has a Nextel logo on its back. Since Nextel has its presence in the Latin American countries including Argentina, the i1Q might be launched there sometime soon.

We will let you know as soon as we get info about the device’s US release date. So stay tuned to this space.
