Motorola Atrix 4G ‘Most Powerful Smartphone’ Listed for Cheap at Costco

January 31, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

The Atrix 4G refuses to stay off the discussion board, it seems. Close on the heels of an appearance on Amazon, the supposedly ‘Most Powerful Smartphone Ever’ hit  Costco too – with a similar pricing. A $150 price tag for a device that would come sporting a dual-core (1GHz each) Nvidia Tegra 2 CPU and 1 GB RAM has, in fact, come as a surprise, as we had told you when we reported the Amazon listing.

We know that the Motorola Atrix 4G will arrive on the AT&T network by end of February. Though we have all been waiting to know what the price tag would be like, the Amazon pricing had hinted at what it would be like. Now with Costco too listing the device for the same price, we guess that’s a discounted figure, compared with the possible AT&T price.

The speculation stems from an inventory document found in the wild by guys at Android Central. As per what we see in the sheet, Costco will offer the Atrix 4G for $150.

The device that been showcased at CES 2011, had been written about as a device that would be bring in revolutionary changes in the way people look at mobile technology. The Atrix 4G is Motorola’s first dual-core Android phone which will come with 1 GB of RAM, a fingerprint scanner, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, a front-facing camera for video chatting, HSPA+ 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen.

The $150 price seems luring but then we are still not sure whether the listed amount will be what would come as the final price. Check out this report we posted a while ago, and tell us if you too feel the same.
