Dead Rising 2 Tops Xbox LIVE in 2010

Despite a sticky year for retail gaming stores, Microsoft have announced that Xbox LIVE continued to grow in 2010, generating an estimated $122 million, a 16% year-over-year increase in revenues.

This growth saw an average of $816,000 generated for every title during 2010, with Capcom’s Dead Rising 2: Case Zero shipping around 700,000 units at $5.00 each. The full list of top selling titles features a wide variety of titles, not just the typical FPS and MMORPG titles that you might expect – in fact if anything, 2010 has proven that the Xbox 360 is as versatile a family gaming machine as the Nintendo Wii.

  3. LIMBO (Playdead) – 527,000 Units

  5. Toy Soldiers (Signal Studios) – 383,000 Units
  6. Family Game Night [Various Titles (Hasbro)] – 294,000 Units
  7. Monday Night Combat (Uber Entertainment) – 293,000 Units
  8. Perfect Dark (Rare) – 279,000 Units
  9. Battlefield 1943 (EA Dice) – 268,000 Units
  10. Deadliest Warrior: The Game (Pipeworks Software) – 210,000 Units

Meanwhile, Xbox LIVE looks to be in an even stronger position for 2011, with the continued expansion of online gaming expected to play a big part, as while the Windows Phone 7’s Xbox LIVE integration has seen a vast increase in available titles since the start of 2011.
