Redsn0w 0.9.7 Untethered iOS 4.2.1 Jailbreak with 4.1’s JB exploit: Monte to Unlock your Apple iPhone 4, iPad & iPod even as iPhone Dev Team works on iOS 4.3 Beta

Preserving the jailbreak exploit is more significant than hurrying out and releasing an untethered jailbreak version of the Redsnow and that is precisely what the iPhone Dev Team have managed to achieve. With the new Redsn0w 0.9.7 Untethered iOS 4.2.1 Jailbreak you can now break away from the clutches of Apple and maybe even install those apps that you have so much wanted.

There have been previous Beta versions of the Redsnow 0.9.7 Untethered Jailbreak Software, but the iPhone Dev Team was still working on them to fix a few of the glitches and ensure that the jailbreak works just fine. The final version of Monte is now indeed out as confirmed by MuscleNerd on Twitter and now is the time for you to free your iPhone 4, iPad, iPod or even your latest Apple TV!

The good thing about the untethered jailbreak is that it uses the same JB exploit that was used in the iOS 4.1’s jailbreak and the more you can borrow from the previous exploit, the better. This will ensure that whatever new exploit that the iPhone Dev Team is working on can be saved and used on iOS 4.3, when it is released by Apple.

One interesting question that will be answered in coming months will be if the CDMA Verizon iPhone can be “jailbroken into” using the same shatter exploit or if Apple would have patched it up in some fashion after the GSM versions of iPhone 4 have been unlocked. We will be waiting to see how that goes along with iOS 4.3…
