Alltel to Ship LG Axis

While it might not be a HTC Desire, the LG Axis is certainly a decent entry-level device for newcomers to Android, so much so that Alltel have opted to make this device available on its network in the near future.

The LG Axis, coming to Alltel

Sporting a 3.2-inch touchscreen, QWERTY sliding keyboard, a 3MP camera with Auto-Focus, 4x zoom in video mode, wireless networking, 3G connectivity and powered by Android 2.1, it’s probably fair to say that the LG Axis is one of the better low price Android phones from the Korean electronics giants. Available for just $89.99 (with a $50 mail in rebate taken into account) on a two-year deal, the Axis should certainly prove to be an attractive option.

Other features of the Axis include Bluetooth and multitasking (in the guise of “multi-function usage”) for sending messages or web surfing while listening to music. While it may not be exactly revolutionary, the LG Axis certainly looks as though it is a decent little handset, equipped with a traditionally plastic-but-reliable LG keyboard.

Let’s face it – if you were desperate for an Android and wanted one for the price of one weeks shopping, the LG Axis would be top of your list.
