Yahoo bought Musicmatch Jukebox in 2004 and relaunched it as the Yahoo! Music Jukebox freeware music player.

The Yahoo! Music Jukebox freeware music player carried a number of cool features like the ability to rip and burn CDs, run LAUNCHcast, the Yahoo! Music Unlimited music subscription service, playlist creation, transfer of music to mp3 players and USB flash drives, or the fact that you could stream music between Yahoo! Messenger users while browsing eachother’s music playlists.

Yahoo! Unlimited subscribers were able to access complete songs and include them in to their collections while others could access thirty second samples. The Yahoo! Music Jukebox provided the ability to rip songs from various formats such as .wav, .mp3, .wmv and burn it to CDs/DVDs but was unable to play mp3 from these CDs.  In 2008, the Jukebox stopped streaming online content and no longer connects to any online services and uses can only visit Yahoo!
