Verizon iPhone to Arrive at the End of January with Unlimited Data

January 10, 2011, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

New rumors are suggesting that Verizon will shortly launch the iPhone along with unlimited data plans to tackle its main rival AT&T. In comparison, AT&T has offered its customers shackled data plans with little freedom.

The phone is expected to go on sale by the end of this month. The unlimited package is sure to become a big advantage for the carrier since AT&T’s customers are faced with tightly controlled data bundles.

Since its launch in 2007, this is the first time that the iPhone will be sold by more than one carrier in the US.

It’s expected that Apple will announce the Verizon iPhone before Verizon does. The Verizon version will have almost the same specifications as the GSM iPhone 4.

The potent features are Retina display, a 3.5 inch (diagonal) multitouch screen, a 5 MP camera which can record 720p videos and an LED flash which can light up the dark even while shooting videos, front camera for video calling and video recording, support for display of multiple languages and characters simultaneously, 3-axis gyro sensors, accelerometer, and proximity sensor for complete 3d and motion gaming.

These features must be familiar for iPhone 4 users from its launch in the middle of last year. But for browsing, mailing or downloading iTunes and thousands of Apps, the Verizon version of the device might help a lot.
