Verizon iPhone 4 Not Part of Big Red’s Superphone Lineup, Yet [Verizon Bets on Android & Windows Phone 7, Forgets About CDMA iPhone For a While]

January 7, 2011, By Alex Ion

Verizon is marching forward with their new 4G LTE network and Android superphones that will take advantage of the uber-speeds they advertise.

They took stage in Vegas at CES 2011, brought news about ultra-performing mobile phones and network changes, but kept quiet about the iPhone 4.

Now don’t get us wrong, we’re not saying a CDMA iPhone for Big Red won’t the see daylight, we’re saying that the Consumer Electronics Show would’ve been a great way to break the story to the masses.

On the other hand, knowing that Apple is a master of marketing and advertising, they probably want to announce it themselves at a later time, during a conference that they organize in a place that they choose.

They want to have the reins on this one. And we can certainly understand why. The CDMA iPhone is going to be a BIG deal for people in the US who’re sick and tired of AT&T’s service.

Also, it would mean that the AT&T exclusivity won’t exist anymore and other operators will get it, too.

Meanwhile, I guess we’ll have to get used with leaks that will prepare us (mentally) for the real deal.

February sounds like a good month to debut the CDMA iPhone, unless, of course, Cupertino breaks the news on  January 11th, 2011 (1/11/11)

What do you folks think?
