It must be said, at this year’s CES in Las Vegas, there’s been quite some hype around Verizon’s 4G (LTE) network. To make it even more attractive than they did with numbers and stats, Big Red not only announced a plethora of superphones capable of being “blazingly fast”, like the HTC Thunderbolt, they also announced that Skype Mobile with video will be part of it, too.
According to Verizon exec Marni Walden, “using Skype mobile with video, you can see what I see, and I can see what you see becomes reality, and it’s because of the combination of Skype and Verizon Wireless”, mixed with the uber-fast 4G LTE network that Big Red is promoting.
We’re eager to see how Skype Mobile works on Verizon’s new network (no more WiFi folks), but we know that it may take some time before the application will run on a smartphone capable of taking advantage of the network’s speed.
Is it just us or that’s great advertising for Big Red?
