Huawei IDEOS X5 Gets Confirmed – Specs & Availability Confirmed

January 7, 2011, By Alex Ion

The first thing that got our attention with the newly announced Huawei IDEOS X5 is the fact that it looks damn sleek.

Meant as a mobile for busy professionals, you’d be upset to know that only users from Singapore, Hong Kong and New Zealand will get their hands on one this month, with the rest of the world following up soon. We’re not really sure what that means if you live in the US, Europe of UK, but probably mid-February sounds like a good bet.

But the new Huawei IDEOS X5 is not only sexy. It’s also really smart. It comes with a 3.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display, runs Android 2.2 (bit of a disappointment here) and supports Flash 10.1, has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording capabilities and a 1500mAh battery.

Other specs talk of a 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230 CPU paired with an Adreno 205 GPU and 512MB of RAM, 4GB of built-in memory (expandable by using a microSD card), WiFi (b/g/n) and Bluetooth connectivity, along with tri-band HSPA+ support an accelerometer and an in-built GPS receiver.

No word on how much this little beauty will cost, but I’m really digging the 11.4mm-thin body and the design. How about you?
