Confirming earlier rumors, HP has just announced that the Palm Pre 2 handset is set to launch in Canada through Rogers. Back in late October, some leaked pictures had suggested that the device was headed to Rogers, although there was no confirmation on the matter.

You might already know the specs of the device. Just in case you suffer from a memory problem, the Palm Pre 2 ships with webOS 2.0. It comes equipped with a performance upgrade that doubles the clock speed to 1GHz from 500MHz.

The Pre 2 also has a five-megapixel camera with LED flash and you will get a 3.1 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480×320, GPS receiver, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi (802.11b, 802.11g) and 16 GB of integrated storage.

The battery that comes with the device will provide you with a talk time of about 5.50 hours and a stand-by time of about 350 hours.

The handset is now available through the carrier with a price tag of $100 if you are signing up for a three-year contract, $350 when bought with a two-year agreement, $400 with a single-year term, or $450 without a contract.
