Burglar Steals Laptop, iPod, Cash & Winter Coat, Then Uploads Smirking Picture on Victim’s Facebook

“Thank you for all the goodies, dawg. We’re good!”, that’s what this happy social media burglar seems to be saying in this picture that he uploaded on his victim’s Facebook page.

Burglar sneering as he points to the cash lifted from his victim's house

According to Marc Fisher, a reporter and editor at the Washington Post, last week on Friday, sometime between 10 a.m. and 12:45 p.m,  a burglar found a way to enter their house through their basement door.

The guy has managed to steal a brand new winter coat that, in all honesty, suits him quite nicely. He also showed interest in a laptop, iPod, savings bonds and cash, all belonging to Marc’s 15-year old son.

But it wasn’t only the family’s belongings that he was after. Probably an avid Facebook admirer, the man also felt compelled to upload a thank you image to the victim’s Facebook page that was followed by more than 400 teenagers.

“I’ve seen a lot, but this is the most stupid criminal I’ve ever seen,” has said D.C. police Officer Kyle Roe, when taking fingerprints and inspecting the crime scene. And we can’t but agree with the guy, but learning that low life burglars usually leave the court only with probation it makes sense why one week after the incident, they still don’t know who the social media thief is.

“No wonder the guy in our photo wore such a confident smirk,” said Marc Fisher.

If anyone recognizes the guy, we’re pretty sure Marc would like to know more about it 🙂
