This is sure good news for those Apple TV users who have been complaining of issues with regard to picture quality and streaming media downloads.Cheer up, guys!

Apple has ushered in a new update for its Apple TV  – v4.1.1 – and this outlines measures as to how to make your viewing and downloading experience worth all the effort.

Apple’s upgrade brings in a new firmware that sets right a bug that had been reason for below-quality high-definition TV display at 480p. The update also seeks to address another problem that may cause a movie or TV show to be re-downloaded.

As per an Apple document elaborating on the firmware update, the new AirPlay feature will make sure that videos, images and music can be streamed to Apple TV from iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with iOS 4.2 or later OS updates.

It will also help video and music streaming to Apple TV from a Mac or PC running iTunes 10.1.

Besides, the VoiceOver feature will bring in screen reading to Apple TV. This will enable voice over of a description of the menu item being highlighted by the cursor, other onscreen text, and feedback on video and audio controls.

Apple has incorporated as many as 18 languages under this feature. These apart, the new software update 4.1 will bring in performance and connectivity fixes too.

We are just waiting to know whether the new update will enable users to address issues such as delay in lengthy HD video downloads. May be Apple will tell us more on that.
