‘The old order changes yielding way to the new’ and that could not be more true or grand than in the case of World of Warcraft. With its latest ‘World of Warcraft: Cataclysm’ release, Activision-Blizzard once again proved why WoW is still the largest online multi-player game and why they are unchallenged in that spectrum. With already over 12 million subscribers across the globe, it is less than surprising to see that the new ‘Cataclysm’ title became the fastest selling PC game ever!

Over 3.3 copies of the game were sold in just the first 24 hours of the release with people queuing up outside stores that opened midnight to distribute the title. Yup, it is a cultural phenomenon of its own with midnight parties that ensured that everyone who was in on WoW was up, and ready to get their copy as early as possible.

WoW: Cataclysm beat Blizzard’s own record of 2.8 million copies sold in first 24 hours of release by another WoW title; World of Warcraft expansion: Wrath of the Lich King. With the news of the new record setting sales expect more gaming aficionados to be in on the Cataclysm title very soon.

So did you get your WoW: Cataclysm title? Are you planning to get in on the fun? Already on it, then maybe you can share your experience so far?
