It’s the season of Tegra-2 with many a tablet maker actively incorporating Nvidia’s Tegra 2 system-on-a-chip (SoC) components into their slates.  Rumors suggest that by 2011many a tablet from makers of the likes of  Acer, Asustek, Toshiba, and Samsung would come hiding under their hood the Tegra-2 component.

A handful of them are already in the final stages of release and are expected to roll out of assembly lines very soon.

What makes Tegra-2  much sought after is the fact that the strong graphics performance and supports for Adobe Flash and 3D games it offers.

With these being the driving factors, many a tablet maker is roping in the Nvidia Tegra 2 as if they are in a hurry.

Further, as if to add to the acceleration, Nvidia is offering price discounts in the hope of pushing market acceptability.

In case you didn’t know, tech companies have already rolled out tablets by the names of eLocity A7 and Advent Vega into the market.

These apart, the Notion Ink Adam tablet is currently made available for pre-order.

Rumors suggest that the Nvidia chips will account for at least half of all ARM-based tablet shipments that happen in 2011.

We also hear that besides Acer, Asustek, Toshiba, and Samsung, Motorola and LG are too looking at Tegra 2 with plans for a tablet and smartphone respectively.
