Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone Gets a March 2011 Launch Date; Gears up for Two Public Appearances Ahead of Release

We have been hearing a lot about the upcoming Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone, which is due next year. The latest on that front is that a launch date has surfaced finally. March 2011 is the date now being talked about and also we get to hear that the phone could also have two public appearances just ahead of launch.

While the first showcasing might come about at the Mobile World Congress that gets underway at Barcelona in February, it would be followed up with another during CeBIT 2011 that will begin in Germany by the start of March.

A Sony source has hinted at the launch date of the PlayStation phone being internally termed as Zeus Z1.

The phone, which will sport similar looks as the Sony PSP Go, is to come running Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread.

Features under the hood will include 512MB RAM, 8GB microSD card, and an ARM processor. The UI will be a 3.7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen.

With a launch date now out, we expect to lay our hands of the Zeus Z1 as soon as it arrives in our midst.
