December 2, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Dell Streak had already joined the line of Android tablet devices that bagged their essential Android 2.2 Froyo update. But the update was available for the unlocked version only, until now. The latest is that the update is ready for those users who got their Streak for a two-year contract on AT&T.

Though, we have seen some Streak devices on AT&T getting the update applied within this time, they are just a few. AT&T has not yet started rolling out the update to all the Dell Streak devices on their network. So may be your turn is yet to come.

Well, just to remind you, the Froyo update for Streak comes with a bunch of improvements you would really love. The update claims to provide faster system operations and will improve its video recording capacity to 720p HD.

Bundled with Adobe Flash 10.1 compatibility and portable Hotspot/ USB tethering capability; it brings the ability for app storage in expandable memory also.

The UI tweaks include a better Phone dialer interface and the new Dell stage UI. The Dell Stage UI gives you a set of very usable basic widgets that can be customized.

To tell more about the additions, the update comes with a pre-loaded Swype Keyboard app which delivers better input options as a virtual keyboard.

The new Backup and Restore app bundled with this update is efficient in backing up all important data like contacts, call logs, etc to the microSD card safely.

Well, that’s the Froyo story for Dell Streak. If you own one on AT&T, do check for the update soon. Also don’t forget to check out the video below:
