November 25, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

It’s been quite while since Creative had hinted at introducing its ZiiO tablets. The 7-inch device has finally got on to the FCC listing this week and that could mean the release date is imminent. Going by a picture we chanced upon, the Creative ZiiO tablet has an excellently laid out interiors. We now look forward to an US release date to be announced.

Out in the open now are the device’s details and the user manual. Incorporated with a ZiiLABS ZMS-08 system-on-a-chip and four pockets of NAND flash made by Hynix Semiconductor, the tablet  also comes with an AzureWave chip that will power its 802.11 b/g WiFi connectivity and Bluetooth capabilities.

A resistive touchscreen and a battery powered by a 5,000mAh lithium-ion cell complete the picture of what the ZiiO tablet device would be like.  If you would remember, ZiiO tablets were said to be waiting in the wings with an Android 2.1 OS heart.

The OS is sure to be Android, and the features that were hinted at the last time we heard about it are all sure to be there too. Apart from the ZiiLabs ZMS-08 processor, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR, WiFi 802.11b/g, the device will have an expandable microSD slot.

We are just waiting to know when it will finally come to our hands. Final details on the pricing front are also yet to come by.  Are you going for it?
