Apple TV Suffers Color Issues in Several Sony & Philips Televisions

November 23, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Apple TV has suddenly been subject for serious discussions and the latest reports reveal that there are problems when the device is used with Sony and Philips televisions. Issues such as ‘inverted color’, ‘green color’, and ‘black screen’ are among the problems cited.

The Bravia KDL-37S500, Philips 32PFL7404H/12, and Philips 56PFL9954H have been included in the list of televisions suffering the problems with Apple TV. If you remember right, the same TV models had worked fine when tested on the first generation Apple TV! We just wonder what has gone wrong now.

This fact almost confirms that the problem is with the Apple TV and the HDMI cable, doesn’t it? It is known that Apple has seriously taken the issue into their consideration and they have started collecting details from the customers who have come with complaints.

AppleCare support has promised to fix the problem as soon as possible, but they haven’t let out a specific time frame for tackling the issue. Although there are no official solutions suggested so far, we can expect a software fix for this problem with the next Apple TV OS update coming to enable the AirPlay for video functionality.

Take a look at the videos below and you will know what we mean.
