‘The Daily’, a joint venture from News Corp and Apple to create a digital-only newspaper for Apple tablets, is expected to hit the streets as early as next month, as per the latest grape vine. News Corp head Rupert Murdoch and Apple head Steve Jobs have been rolling their plans to launch this digital news paper initiative for some months from now.

The move which is meant to help News Corp to extend its presence to digital world as well by exploring innovative opportunities is expected couple both tabloid content and broadsheet intelligence.

The Daily is rumored to be a digital newspaper available exclusively through Apple gadgets, with no print editions and web editions.

It will be published automatically to Apple devices with a cost of 99 cents a week. News Corp is expected to add 100 more scribes to their workforce for running this iPad newspaper.

News Corp decided to venture into The Daily with Apple, after studies revealed that people spent more time with iPads than on internet – a possibility News Corp felt like exploring.

However, there are conflicting views regarding a possible launch date for The Daily. There are sources which say the launch date of this tablet newspaper is on December 9th. Well, let’s  wait and see.
