Nokia Ovi Store is on the Move, 3 Millions Applications Downloaded Everyday

Nokia has been openly categorized as a brand from the previous generation by Steve Wozniak, but the Finnish giant isn’t  too bothered by this perception and it is enjoying the rise of its Ovi Store. Albeit a little difficult to digest, Ovi Store is currently sitting pretty at a whopping 3 million applications download on a daily basis. Ovi Store was at 1 million downloads at the beginning of this year and the figure swelled to 2.3 million in October 2010.

Nokia also disclosed that the the total number of users of Ovi now exceeds 165 million people across more than 190 countries and some 250,000 new Ovi users are being added on a daily basis. Though the Nokia smartphones haven’t rocked the show on a global level, these numbers surely are impressive and they signify a growing affinity for Nokia apps.

Another pleasing factor for Nokia is that 90% of the users that visit the Ovi Store end up downloading an application and  each registered visitor downloads 2.6 apps on average. Q Torch is the most popular app in the Ovi Store followed by Angry Birds, but the latter takes the cake as the most downloaded paid app.
