The HTC Merge smartphone is scheduled to arrive on Verizon and the device has been spotted on the carrier’s website. There is no authentic information regarding the release date and these posted pictures were immediately pulled off by the carrier from its website. But the images were recorded before they were removed and these images clearly portray the device in its compact form and with the full QWERTY sliding keyboard.

This device will be the first HTC-built offering with a QWERTY slider on Verizon. It is based on the Google Android 2.2 Froyo OS and will be powered by a second-generation Snapdragon processor.

It also features a 3.8 inch touchscreen that offers a resolution of 480×800. The 5MP camera comes with an LED flash and it has the capacity of recording 720p video.

It comes with an inbuilt storage capacity of 4GB, 512MB of RAM, and connectivity options that include Bluetooth, WiFi and USB 2.0.

Although the details that appeared did not mention about the incorporation of LTE functionality, the handset is expected to extend support for GSM bands when traveling abroad. The device was expected to roll out by the end of this week, but the latest rumors suggest the release to be real sometime during the coming weeks.
