Mercedes M-Class Grand Sports and M-Class Grand Executive Debut in India

November 18, 2010, By Alex Ion

Mercedes is consolidating their market presence in India by announcing two new variants of its luxury SUV, the new Mercedes M-Class.

Dubbed M-Class Grand Sports and M-Class Grand Executive and meant for customers who demand the very best, the two vehicles will cost Rs. 54.11 lakh and respecitvely, 47.91 lakhs, (ex-showroom, Pune).

And by all means these are cars that will impress.

Power comes from a 3L V6 diesel engine mated to a 7G-tronic transmission that helps it output 224hp and 510 Nm of torque. As for the M-Class Grand Edition, it comes with redesigned attractive darkened headlamps, LED daytime driving lights, 19’’ light alloy wheels, and an interior that will melt your heart away with its high-grade materials, the heated seats or the Parktronic & Neck-Pro luxury head restraints.

Other specs for the M-CLass Grand Edition includes an AMG ergonomic sports steering wheel, permanent FWD, 4 ETS traction systems, Downhill Speed Regulation, Acceleration Skid Control (ASR) and off-road ABS system. But you’d expect all these in a Rs. 50 lakh luxury off-roader, right?

“The M-Class has been a popular model series in India. The ‘Sports Edition’ and the ‘Executive Edition’ are very aggressively priced considering the trim and features of this marquee. We are confident that customers who expect highest standards from their vehicles will find the M-Class a vehicle that exceeds their expectations- both on and off the road,” said Wilfried Aulbur, MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India.
