Call of Duty: Black Ops just keeps growing and growing. With over 5 million  units sold and 3 million of those people playing the game on opening night, there seems to be no stopping this new Call of Duty phenomenon.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Sets New Industry Record

Activision’s new game has just set an industry record and grossed $650 Million in the first 5 days of sales. Beating Modern Warfare 2′s $550 Million opening week sales.

Call of Duty has become the first entertainment property in history to set five-day launch records for two consecutive years across all forms of entertainment,” said Robert Kotick, CEO, Activision Blizzard.

According to Microsoft:

  • More than 5.9 million multiplayer hours were logged playing Call of Duty: Black Ops by end of launch day, November 9.
  • More than 2.6 million unique gamers played Call of Duty: Black Ops in one day onNovember 9.

I’m pretty sure that Call of Duty: Black Ops has made more than Jame’s Cameron’s Titanic. Now isn’t that something.
