At least some of you PlayStation fans out there haven’t been very much happy about the way Sony had provided you with the video delivery service. We have been waiting to know what Sony was lining up to fix this issue. The solution is finally here, with Sony all set to introduce a third party video provider to the PS3 XMB.

It has been made official that Sony will bring in VUDU to strengthen its line up of video apps domain, which is already populated with the likes of Netflix, Hulu Plus and NHL GameCenter.

Come November 23, and Sony will lift the wraps off VUDU on the PS3 XMB so that on-demand movie service is ushered in. VUDU, which boasts of 4,000-plus HD movies in its library, will have an initial plan offer of a free $5.99 credit to new registrants so as to help them watch their first HD movie on the service for free. Sounds good, right?

VUDU will hop on to PS3 with an application that lets you watch HD and Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 surround sound streaming on the PS3 console. The offerings from VUDU will enable PS3 users the access to top quality entertainment.

The arrival of VUDU will also make PS3 the first and only system with dedicated gaming functionality that offers this service. It will also bring in capabilities for the users to access gaming, movies, television shows, sports, original programming, internet browsing and social networking. What more are you looking at?
