HTC Droid Merge on Verizon Rumored to Launch on November 18th

November 16, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

There has been an announcement about an event scheduled to be conducted at the Republiq club in Seattle. They are hosting a Patron Social Club event, on this November 18th, Thursday. The event is jointly presented by HTC and Verizon and that is why we are interested in it.

HTC Incredible cabaret- as it is called- is expected to witness the launch of two HTC devices on Verizon. The event is also known as Verizon HTC Merge and HTC Incredible Cabaret since these are the devices to be launched.

The invitation says celebrity Ali Landry will be hosting the event for Verizon and HTC to celebrate the launching of the HTC Droid Merge World Phone and the re-launching of the HTC Droid Incredible.

So that’s that story. Then what is this HTC Droid Merge World Phone?  Whatever it be, it will be interesting to find Bing as the default search engine with this HTC Merge since Verizon is now calling it a Droid. We have all believed that Droid branded phones would never see Bing.

However Verizon’s HTC Merge is expected to be different from T Mobile’s version of the Desire Z – the G2 (you might know that the Merge is Verizon’s version of the Desire Z). The HTC Merge will have HTC’s Sense UI as a mark that makes it different, along with its Bing search engine.
