Verizon HTC Droid Incredible Software Update Rolling Out Now

November 12, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Verizon has started to roll out a new minor software update for the HTC Droid Incredible. The software update 3.26.605.1, delivered over the air as an 18MB file, should be pushed out to all users over the next few days.

The listed improvements brought out by the new update are hardly earth shattering, but there is one enhancement that is interesting: Verizon’s V CAST Apps store.

The new store will allow DROID Incredible users to download and install applications in a manner similar to the Android Market. Preinstalled V CAST Apps will let users purchase applications directly from their devices and bill them to a Verizon Wireless account.

The improvements coming with the update include an updated Flash player with security enhancements, Visual Voice Mail WiFi improvements (include removal of incorrect service messages and post-call notifications), enhanced support for Yahoo IMAP email and updated Slacker application. After the update you will be able to attach files larger than 5 MB.

The update also brings updated COX POP3 email settings, updated Comcast POP3 email settings, search key and other buttons displayed in correct order, and you will be able to play YouTube videos in YouTube application and seamlessly switch between portrait and landscape views in Google Maps.
