Apple iOS 4.2 Update Gets Delayed by WiFi Issues; Rumors Mention November 16 Download Date

November 12, 2010, By Alex Ion

If a few days ago we were reporting that iOS 4.2 will be available for download on November 10 (which is today) we’re now reading reports that a pesky Wi-Fi problem may prevent this from happening. We were right with the debut of Mac OS X 10.6.5 yesterday, but it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit more until Apple will “unify” their devices on iOS 4.

According to a Greek website, iPhoneHellas, the iOS 4.2 update for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, has been delayed for another week, until Tuesday, November 16th. The WiFi problem on iOS 4.2 has been first discovered in the Gold Master version of the software, and led to many complaints in the Apple forums. They’re now working at pace, and as soon as they’ll have a fix, iOS 4.2 will be released for download.

For those of you who don’t know the importance of iOS 4.2, just think that the iPad will be getting the much awaited multitasking feature, home screen folders, and the Game Center. On top of that, all Apple products (iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch) will now get AirPrint, AirPlay, and a number of other enhancements.

So yeah, this is biggy, and we’re disappointed not having our hands on it today.
