Apple iTunes 10.1 Available for Download Sometime Later Today, iOS 4.2 on Friday

Apple is keen on keeping their customers happy before the holiday seasons kicks in. That’s why we’re now hearing from the people at MacStories that Apple is ready to release their latest version of iTunes — iTunes 10.1 — and make it available for download sometime today. Together with the iTunes 10.1 update there’s also OS X 10.6.5 who should be available.

For those curious when iOS 4.2 will be available for their Apple devices, we heard it mentioned that it was due last Tuesday, but a bug kept it from hitting the pipes — something to do with Japanese characters not being displayed correctly. Now rumors have it that it will debut this week, on Friday at 10 AM PST

All these make sense though. The reason is, iOS 4.2 comes with AirPlay and AirPrint functionalities, which are dependent on iTunes 10.1 and OS X 10.6.5, respectively.

Needless to say that we’ll update you as soon as we have confirmed iTunes 10.1, iOS 4.2 or the MAC OS X update.
