November 9, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

LG has announced the launch of its X170 netbook that bears a 10.1-inch LED backlight LCD display. The model is the second one from the company with Intel’s latest dual core Atom N550 processor. The device will be retailed with an optional HD 1366 x 768 display offering and is available in the Korean markets now with a price-tag just under $700.

The LG X170 is powered by a 6-cell battery and it weighs 1.3kg. The device has 1GB DDR3 RAM and the 250GB HDD is not a bad offering for this average device.

Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity is enabled in the device. Connectivity options also include the support extended through the USB and the HDMI port. It also bears integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics on the board.

But the most highlighted feature is the incorporation of the SmartPOP feature that helps the users to send an SMS, view contacts / files and dial a phone number from their very own PC by syncing the files and e-mails once they are using the application.

The device will be available in the markets with a choice of 4 colors; pink, blue, black and ivory.

So what do you think about this new device. Will you get one for yourself?
