November 4, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Softbank has introduced 2 new Sharp phones that will feature 3D displays that require no glasses. The new Sharp Galapagos 003SH and the Sharp Galapagos 005SH will be bearing a 3.8-inch autostereo 3D screen which is larger than the screen that the Nintendo 3DS has. This screen will be offering a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

These phones will be running on the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, the Android 2.2 Froyo, and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor will power them both.  The 003SH will be brought out with a touchscreen and the 005SH will be having a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Both the phones are equipped with powerful cameras. The 9.6MP CCD AF camera on the 003SH is capable of handling 720p video and the 8MP camera on the 005SH is also one among the best mounted on a smartphone.

The phones will be hitting the markets with some pre-loaded titles that include Mega Man, Resident Evil and Ghosts ‘n Goblins as bundled 3D content from Capcom.

The 003SH will be hitting the Japanese markets in the month of December and the 005SH will roll out by February 2011. But there are no details available on the pricing of these glassless 3D devices.
